UISRM is committed to join and contribute to UI’s journey to unity. At the beginning of 2020, the program created a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee who ensured that topics surrounding DEI were prominent in the 2020 UISRM Symposium's live and recorded sessions.

Each February, UI students dance for 24 hours to raise money in support of UIHC pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families.

Originally a Tippie College of Business student, Michael Burke quickly called an audible on his academic pursuits to double major in Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) and Journalism and Mass Communications (JMC).

The Kids on Course field experience was designed by instructor Kara Kehe to extend opportunities for service learning to a sizable group of young professionals aspiring to work in school-based sport.
