Current students are gaining valuable work experience through internships. Recent UISRM graduates are entering the sport and recreation industries with internships and full-time employment. Alumni are advancing toward their dream jobs. The achievements of UISRM students, alumni, and faculty that the program is aware of are below.

  • Jason Matteson (BS 2017) accepted the position of Senior Sales Manager with Legends at UNC Charlotte.  

  • Scott Schneider (BS 2017) accepted the position of Director of Sales with Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.  

  • Josten Boyer (BS 2019, pictured above) accepted a promotion to Inside Sales Manager with the Memphis Grizzlies.

  • Margot Sylvan (BS 2020) accepted a promotion to Senior Marketing Manager with Rush Street Interactive.  

  • Zaq Al-Qady (BS 2021) accepted the position of Equipment Manager with the KC Current. 

  • Isabel Bowman (BS 2021) accepted the position of Manager of Operations and Activation, World Championship Events with The IRONMAN Group.

  • Bryce Fanti (BS 2021) accepted the position as Senior Recruiting Consultant with Titus Talent Strategies.  

  • Ireland Hostetler (BS 2021) accepted a promotion to Football Director of Internal Operations with University of Iowa Athletics.  

  • Ben Kayser (BS 2021) accepted the position of Partnership Activation Manager with the Indianapolis Indians.  

  • Luke Statler (BS 2021, pictured below right) accepted the position of Advance Scouting Analyst with the New York Yankees.

  • Mark Waigand (BS 2021) accepted the position of General Manager, Ticket Sales and Operations at Drake University. 

  • IV West (BS 2021) accepted the position of Enterprise Sales Development Representative at Makersite.  

  • Danita Brown (BS 2022) accepted a promotion to L5 Area Manager with Amazon. 

  • Daniel Crooks (BS 2022) accepted the position of Media Relations Trainee with the Kansas City Royals.  

  • Tom Knoke (BS 2022) accepted the position of Assistant Golf Professional a Oneota Golf & Country Club.  

  • Paris LaPoint (UISRM minor 2022) accepted the position of Coordinator, Administration with USA Baseball.

    Bryce Melton (BS 2022) accepted the position of Assistant Baseball Coach at New College of Florida.  

  • Lucas Russell (BS 2022, MA 2024) accepted the position of Sales Account Executive with the Des Moines Buccaneers.

  • Lake Turner (BS 2022) was named one of BizBash’s Top 10  Breakout Stars of 2024. Turner is an account manager for Turnkey, an event management company specializing in experiential marketing and mobile tours. He works out of the company’s Chicago office.

  • Hunter Arbogast (BS 2023, pictured right) accepted the position of Account Executive, Sales with Legends at the Buffalo Bills’ New Highmark Stadium. 

  • Marc Cortez (BS 2023) accepted a promotion to Coordinator, Suites & Premium Hospitality with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  

  • David Henderson (BS 2023, ex. MA 2025) accepted the position of Inside Sales Representative with the Carolina Panthers.
