The Kearney family

We greatly admire and appreciate the outstanding work of the UI Sport and Recreation Management program, the faculty’s impressive leadership and innovation, and the experiential learning opportunities the program provides. Our son, Ryan, was very involved in the program as a student, and he remains connected as an alumnus. He speaks at UISRM events and stays in touch with current students and faculty to help support the next generation of alumni while continuing his own professional development. The on-campus activities that Ryan took part in and the relationships that Ryan developed as a UISRM student have been profoundly positive. The practicums are incredibly valuable (e.g., Chicago Blackhawks, San Diego Gulls, Cedar Rapids Kernels). Ryan is enjoying his career in junior hockey, and the foundation that UISRM provided helped fuel that passion. Thank you, UISRM!

Supporting UISRM has been an easy decision for us. We hope that all interested students can participate in the real-world experiences and summer practicum classes that UISRM offers without being constrained by the cost. We especially love donating to the One Day for Iowa challenge – it is rewarding to see the UISRM community come together during #1DayForIowa to help a smaller, newer program beat out longstanding programs with generations of alumni for challenge donations that can have such a significant impact on UISRM students.
