Join UI Professor Lucas Carr to explore major determinants of health outcomes in Spain. Through this program, you will travel to Madrid and Barcelona (two of the healthiest cities in the world) where you will consider how societal rules, community conditions, health infrastructure, and culture in Spain contribute to health outcomes, and how these determinants might differentially contribute to health disparities in Spain and the U.S. Then, you will brainstorm ways in which health promoting determinants in Spain might be applied in the U.S. to improve public health.
